Credibility in Some Flavors

Roy Suryo is well-known as a figure questioning many things about blogging. The “questioning” term could be seen as a skeptical view about blogging and also a challenge for blogger to keep in track to some conservative standards. No, neither I will talk too much about Roy, nor about some debatable arguments concerning credibilities or such things.

In yesterday’s talkshow with Budi Putra, Asia Blogging CEO, on Metro TV Jakarta, Roy asked if Asia Blogging — regarding to its “organized blogging” — will be “back to the old web 1.0 days” where voices were expressed under certain authorities? Budi answered that Asia Blogging let authors write on their own style, on their own opinion. The term “organized” refers to better managed topics and publicly known authors.

While Roy emphasized credibility in some flavors, we — blogger in common — prefer to talk about originality, freshness, and self-spoken way using blog. The joy of talking and passion of writing are among many things I find very important in the blogosphere. Otherwise, respectful is built and grown in individual based, so it is our mission in life to enlighten people doing the right things, not to be addressed specifically to Web 2.0 or blogging.
