Asia under “The Blog Belt”

Harry Sufehmi pointed us The Blog Belt exposed on Business Week July 2 edition. Interesting that Asia has four representatives: Jakarta, Beijing, and Mumbai; special for Singapore, this small country with massive people and technology stands on second level. Three other cities are on third.
Business Week quoted from FeedBurner as,
On a recent day, these were the top 30 cities for blog postings and comments, divided into three tiers by levels of activity.
My thoughts:
- more than Singapore filled by high ratio blogger to population, they have several datacenters which are also used by some neighboors. It is reasonable that postings and comments traffic high.
- Indonesia’s Internet connection is poor and expensive, but Jakarta is one point in third level. This is a bless on trouble — I see in positive side: limited multimedia streaming forces Internet users to go blogging.
So, congratulations for Asia!
This graphics is a cool representative to push for better infrastructure.

I am proud Indonesia have so many bloggers. I believe that blog have more advantages in sharing and distributing opinion, information and knowledge rather than audio/video streaming.
